Letter to My Father - A Man Sent from God!!!

Here's a letter I wrote to my father and Pastor, Rev. Chris Oyakhilome, on his birthday - December 7th, 2009. I have been inspired by his life and walk with God; I hope you're blessed as you read my story.

Dear Pastor Chris:

Words cannot begin to express how much you have given my life a meaning. I came in contact with your ministry about four years ago, and I have never been the same ever since; I have been literally lifted day after day, week after week, and month after month. In the days of old, as you've taught us Pastor, kings selected one of their sons to be trained as an heir - that son was called the "adopted" son of the king, because only he was taught to thinktalk, and act like his father. Pastor, I am glad to say today that I am your son by adoption through God's Word that you've shared with me.

Pastor, you taught me what it is to be a man; you turned the boy of four years ago into a man today. You showed me that a man is not a man in words only or in aggression. Rather, a man is one who cries in two places and for two purposes only - worship and intercession. You taught me that in my future there is nothing to fear. You gave me hope when I felt discouraged. You brought me out of shame into kingship and priesthood. You gave me a great gift which is the understanding that life is not just about me. Pastor, you taught me how to love and sincerely care for others. You showed me that the life of every individual is important - that there's a treasure in the most seemingly "wicked" and "sinister" individual. As you always say, they're "souls for whom Christ died." So, I value them, because Jesus values them. You taught me to live a life of victory, health, success, and prosperity everyday.

All the letters of every language in the world may be needed to express who you are. According to Rev. Tom, you're "an unusual personality...a pleasant intrusion into the affairs of humanity...Jesus in a white suit." I completely agree. But, above all of that, you are my FATHER. Thank you for answering the call of God on your life. You've made the person of Jesus and the HolyGhost real to me in ways I would never have thought possible. You brought me out of religion into LIFE.

Daddy, I love you very much, and I thank God for you. Truly, when we all see Jesus, what a day of rejoicing it will be.....because, from your life and personality, I have seen the personality and life of Jesus. So, on that day when we see Him face to face, we will indeed sing and shout "VICTORY"!

Happy birthday, Rev. Chris Oyakhilome - my mentor, teacher, life coach, inspiration, field marshal, prophet, and FATHER!!!

Your son,

St. Deji - the Divine

Musings...Nostalgia...Divinity; BURNIVINE!

So much to write; a lot to share. I expect that even the fonts I use and my choice of words will give you a feel of the personality. I love to reminisce on past experiences (the good ones, of course) and think deeply about the simple things. Please, don't expect me to be deep; simplicity conveys wisdom...lol!

So, let's get into it. This blog is dedicated to those who have made my life so far - Revs. Chris & Anita Oyakhilome, my Pastors & leaders, family (spiritual and physical), KC boys, friends, acquaintances, classmates, and more. If you ever met me, I'll be sure to write something about you or related to you in some way.

Get to know me as I endeavor to know you as well.

But, lest I forget....MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
